Uganda: 37 Christian Students Slaughtered in School

Islamist on Friday (June 16) killed at least 37 students, most of them Christians, at the dormitories of a private high school in Uganda, and kidnapped six others, sources said. Shouting the jihadist slogan “Allahu akbar [God is greater],” according to the BBC, the assailants killed the students at Lhubiriha Secondary School in Mpondwe, Kasese District, hacking the girls with machetes and burning the boys to death by setting their dormitory on fire.

Uganda: New Christians Hospitalized after Relatives Beat Them

Relatives of two brothers who accepted Christ in May beat them for leaving Islam earlier this month in eastern Uganda, sources said.
Janati Tisuubira, 22, and his 33-year-old brother Ibrahim Musa Kakembo, received hospital care for nearly week after family members attacked them on June 3 following a burial service for their sister in Bunya, Mayuge District, Kakembo said.

Nigeria: Islamist Kill 46 Christians in Benue State

On June 3 and 4 Islamist killed 46 Christians in attacks on a cluster of villages in Benue state, Nigeria, sources said. They invaded Imande Mbakange village in the early hours of June 3, killing 28 Christians, according to a press statement from the Shitile Development Association, signed by Samuel Door, SDA president, and Ephraim Zuai, secretary of the association. On June 4, Fulani herdsmen killed another 18 Christians, six in each of the villages of Michihe, Achamegh and Mbagene Kpav, they said.

“Altogether, 46 Christians were killed by the terrorists in the two days of attacks on our communities,” they said. “Most disturbing also is the fact that the identity of the perpetrators is known to security agencies and the Nigerian government, and yet nothing has been done to end this carnage.”

Nigeria: 42 Christians Killed in Farming Communities

Gunmen wielding AK-47s and machetes killed 42 Christians and burned dozens of houses near Mangu in Nigeria’s Plateau State.
The attackers – suspected to be Islamist militants – raided at least 11 communities from midnight to dawn early Tuesday in Nigeria’ north-central region about 55 miles from the capital, Jos.
Mangu County has faced multiple attacks this year. More than 60 Christians were killed in the district after the March election.

Nigeria: 40 Christians Kidnapped During Church Service

Gunmen kidnapped 40 Christians on Sunday, during church worship in northern Nigeria.

Reverend Joseph John Hayan, chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Kaduna state, said the attack took place on Sunday when gunmen attacked worshippers during a service at Bege Baptist Church, in Madala village, in Chikun local government area, according to Reuters.

Hayan added that 15 people escaped the same night of their kidnapping.

“We have not heard any contact for ransom or anything from [the gunmen] concerning the remaining people, and we pray that the abductors would be merciful to release the remaining 25 back to their families,” Hayan said.

Uganda: College Student Slain for Sharing Christ

A Christian college student was killed in northern Uganda on April 14 for sharing about Christ with Muslims, a fellow student said.
Jeremiah Mwanga, a second-year student at the Uganda Christian School of Professionals in Lira, Northern Region, was killed in his room at the school in Gwangabara cell, Boroboro ward, East Division in Lira. He was 24.

Nigeria: 18 Christians Killed and Pastor Wounded in Plateau State 

In 11 days of attacks through Wednesday (April 26), Islamic herdsmen killed 18 people and wounded others in predominantly Christian villages of Plateau state, Nigeria, sources said.
The herdsmen attacked 11 communities in Jos South, Riyom, Barkin-Ladi, Mangu and Bokkos counties.
