Nigeria: Islamist Slaughter 134 Christians
Islamic extremists killed a pastor in northeast Nigeria, and terrorists in the country’s middle belt state of Benue killed 134 Christians the first week of April, sources said.
The Rev. Yakubu Shuaibu of the Church of the Brethren in Nigeria (EYN) was killed in Borno state by terrorists from the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) who on the night of April 4 broke into his house in Madlau, Biu County, said EYN leader Salamatu Billi.
They also shot and wounded his pregnant wife, who was receiving treatment at Biu General Hospital in Biu town, Billi said. The pastor is also survived by another child.
Nigeria: Islamist Kill Nine Christians in Plateau State
Islamist killed a pastor and his two sons last month in Plateau state, Nigeria, and six other Christians were slain in the state in other attacks. On March 26 they broke into the North Jos home of a family belonging to the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), killed Micah Gochin and kidnapped his son, the slain Christian’s daughter said.
Nigeria: Pastor’s Son and Church Leader Slain in Kaduna State
Islamist killed a pastor on Thursday (March 23) in Kaduna state, Nigeria two weeks after they killed a Baptist pastor’s son in the same state, sources said. The Rev. Musa Mairimi of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) in Buda 2 village, near Kasuwan Magani in Kajuru County, was killed in his home and his wife kidnapped, said the chairman of the Kaduna state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), the Rev. Joseph Hayab.
Uganda: Muslim Relatives Kill Pastor for His Faith
Muslim relatives of a pastor in eastern Uganda took him from his home and killed him for his faith this month, sources said.
Pastor Adinani Bulwa had fled Muslim opposition in northern Uganda and returned home to Muterere village, Bugiri District in January before he was killed on March 10. He was 42.
DRC: Over 70 Christians Killed in Two Weeks
In just two weeks, 72 Christians have been killed in Nord Kivu, in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) by the Islamist rebel group, the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF). Mulinde Esemo, a key church leader in Butembo, DRC, confirmed that the past two weeks have been a period of “great anguish” for the body of Christ in Congo. He said, “We are living in a very tense situation here in Eastern DRC, both in towns and in the villages. Scores of believers have been killed in cold blood by the ADF rebels. It is a massacre like one killing animals.”

Nigeria: Another Attack in Kaduna Before Gubernatorial Election
The militants that killed 17 Christians at Agwan Wakili recently have returned this week, attacking another Christian community in Mubushi and Langsong on March 14, 2023. The fresh attacks took place about 6km from Angwa Wakili. Security has been deployed to the sites of the most recent attacks after ten Christians were found killed by the militants. Fourteen survived gunshot wounds.
Nigeria: 17 Christians Killed by Militants in Southern Kaduna
Islamist recently killed 17 unarmed Christians in the Ungwan Wakili community in the Zangon Kataf LGA of Nigeria’s Kaduna State. Kaduna is in the country’s dangerous Middle Belt region, where militants have attacked Christian communities for years. In the most recent attack, the militants came at night using sophisticated weapons. Local government officials said they will investigate the attack, accusing the military of allowing the attack despite the presence of military checkpoints nearby.
