Twenty-one Christian farmers were killed by Fulani militants in four different villages of Kauru local government in Kaduna State. The attackers came around 4:00pm local time on April 26. “The militants killed Irigwe Christians and burnt houses and a church,” Ezekiel Bini—a tribal leader—told ICC.
India: Authorities Arrest 36 Christians During Church Service
A congregation of 100 Christians in Uttar Pradesh’s Fathepur District were threatened by a Hindu mob who surrounded the church and locked the doors. The police arrested them after the mob’s leader, Himanshu Dikshit, complained that the church was working to convert Hindus to the Christian faith. While most of the congregation has been freed from the locked church, 36 remain in jail on forced conversion charges.
Nigeria: Islamists Target Christians on Easter
Eight Christians were kidnapped by Fulani Militants on Good Friday in Jos, Plateau State. Four were released after paying a $2,000 ransom. A woman among them related to an ICC staffer said that she was raped several times by two leaders of the Fulani Militants. “The militant told us, after receiving the ransom money, that they got money to kill more Christians,” she said.
Uganda: Islamic School Headmaster Fired and Burned for Becoming Christian
The headteacher of a private Islamic school in eastern Uganda suffered third-degree burns and was fired after staff members heard him praying as a Christian, he said.
Nigeria: Islamic Militants Kill 14 Christians
Fulani militants killed 14 Christians, including women and children, in Nigeria’s Benue State on Monday night. The attack happened around midnight in the Tarka Local Government Area, close to the state capital of Makurdi.
